Clinical Practice Specialist
OVERVIEW
The Clinical Practice Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day activities related to recovering organs for transplant, including but not limited to managing potential donor referrals, completing donor evaluations, authorization process, and comprehensive donor management. Additionally, also include the day-to-day oversight of the STA Recovery Center with a specific focus on directing donor management and advance practice procedures, such as liver biopsy, bronchoscopy, and line placement, to maximize the gift of organ donation.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Associates degree in Nursing or biological science or related experience required. Bachelor's degree preferred. Licensed as a registered nurse, respiratory therapist, paramedic, or applicable experience and related training preferred.
CPTC certification and a minimum of 2 years of OPO experience in an organ recovery type clinical role is required.
Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
Ability to meet the requirements of a variable and demanding call schedule required.
Ability to cope with high levels of stress, able to handle a heavy workload and work in a 24/7 environment.
Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.
