Honoring the Gift of Life
The Vision
Each year approximately 1,500 selfless individuals give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation through STA. As we wrap up our celebration of 50 years of saving lives, we turn our attention towards the development of the donor memorial garden at The Legacy Center.
The Donor Memorial Garden will serve as a poignant representation of STA's mission, bridging the gap between loss and life. We aim to create a space that embodies the intertwining emotions of grief and hope, serving as a beacon of light and renewal for all who visit.

The Ask
Our goal for this sacred space is to provide hope, remembrance, and gratitude to all who visit. We ask that you consider making a financial contribution to this lasting tribute to the individuals who, through their final act, gave the gift of life to others.
Phase One: Tree of Remembrance
The Tree of Remembrance, the center of it all, will be an elegant display honoring the courageous organ and tissue donors who save and heal lives, a display where the stories begin. Names of those who give life to others will be engraved on metallic leaves and will delicately hang to allow for freedom of movement.
More details coming in 2025 on how to honor your loved one on the Tree of Remembrance.
Phase 2: Children’s Butterfly Garden
The Children's Garden will feature carefully designed but playful landscape to attract butterflies and bring color through bright blooms. Bronze and buoyant butterfly sculptures will be placed throughout the garden to remind all who visit of the youthfulness they represent.
Phase 3: Stories of Hope
Stories of Hope will anchor the upper level of the garden, featuring grateful transplant recipients who are alive today because of someone’s selfless "yes" to donation.
