Hospital Partners
Southwest Transplant Alliance is honored to work with more than 270 hospital partners across the state of Texas to fulfill the wishes of donors and their families who choose to give the gift of life.
The ongoing dedication of our healthcare partners to provide quality end-of-life care, timely referrals for donation evaluation, and close collaboration with our hospital services teams is vital to our lifesaving work.
Thank you for your support!
STA is committed to providing quality training, education and programming for our hospital partners to comply with state and federal requirements surrounding organ and tissue donation processes.
Transplant Centers
Southwest Transplant Alliance works closely with transplant centers in our service area to improve the donation and transplantation process. While recovered organs may go to locations across the country, our regional transplant center partners are an integral part of our lifesaving work.
What is a transplant center?
Not all hospitals have the staff, training or equipment to perform organ transplants. Hospitals that are staffed and equipped for these complex procedures are called hospital transplant centers and are members of the Organ Procurement and Transplant Network (OPTN). Membership means that the hospital meets OPTN requirements and that they play an active role in forming the policies that govern the transplant community.
There are 250 Transplant Centers in the U.S. STA works closely with the 10 transplant centers within our service area in Texas:
