STARTER℠ is a custom and proprietary technology built by the STA innovation and development team. This robust interface uses technology standards designed for health information exchanges that are common practice across the country. In addition to ensuring referrals from the hospital are timely, this allows STA to gain more information at the time of referral and perform a more thorough evaluation without requiring the nurse to relay medical information over the phone.
With STARTER, STA is provided enough information to evaluate if a potential donor would be suitable for donation. The system is agnostic to hospital EMR systems and electronic donor record technologies.
