Manager, Clinical Services
OVERVIEW
The Manager of Clinical Services is responsible for the day-to-day activities of the Supervisor of Organ Recovery Coordinators. The incumbent is also responsible for all events which follow a referral of a potential organ donor through recovery. This role will also assist in directing the recruitment, development, and retention of Clinical department staff. The activities also include input into the orientation of new staff, as well as, any special projects which may be assigned.
The incumbent develops and maintains expertise associated with on-site donor evaluation and organ recovery practices to include, but not limited to, donor management, organ preservation and organ distribution logistics.
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Science, licensed as a registered nurse or a physician’s assistant, or applicable experience and related training required.
2. 3 - 5 years management experience to include recruiting, training and supervising staff experience preferred.
3. Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator, or eligible through the ABTC.
4. Minimum of three years of critical care experience and one year of expertise in all phases of the organ/tissue donation process and organ preservation.
5. Knowledge of donation issues associated with large metropolitan hospitals.
6. Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.
7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.
8. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.
9. Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft, or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.
10. Proficient in MS office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
