Donor Services Specialist
Job Requirements:
Associates of Science degree preferred. Current Texas credential as an EMT-B or LVN, or completion of an accredited clinical healthcare program resulting in a certification, registry, licensure, or equivalent work experience required.
CTBS, CPTC, CPT, or CCTC current certification required.
Minimum2years’experienceinclinicalcallcenter,orequivalentclinicalorfamilyexperience preferred.
Must be able to type a minimum of 45 WPM and use a telephone system. Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office, Q-Pulse, and iTransplant is required.
Successful advancement through Donor Services Center (DSC) specialization career path including intermediate knowledge of cross-trained department.
Prior experience as a preceptor in a clinical setting required.
Must be able to simultaneously perform multiple complex processes and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow to ensure compliance with established policies and timelines.
Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.
Detail-oriented and provide accuracy IN documentation.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamrequired.
Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.
Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.
Essential Job Functions:
Actively monitors referral activity, responsible for the delegation of optimal triaging strategies for organ and tissue donation.
Evaluates all service lines during high-volume periods and performs the required task(s) to maintain service levels as necessary.
Responsible for overseeing timely shift pass-off and reports to STA and partner agencies.
Provides performance feedback to department leadership.
Participates in meetings to discuss department metrics.
Collaborates with STA departments regarding case logistics for adequate staffing and resource management.
Rotates through each service line in Donor Services Center, regularly, to maintain a baseline competency.
Other duties as assigned.
