Director, Surgical and Perfusion Services

OVERVIEW

The Director of Surgical and Perfusion Services will oversee the daily operations of the Donor Surgical Recovery Center (Legacy Center), Surgical Services and Sterile Processing departments while leading special projects including machine preservation. This includes program development and working with transplant partners to maximize donation through innovative organ procurement practices and technology. They will collaborate with organ and tissue operations to ensure an efficient donor process while maintaining the daily needs of the Legacy Center. The incumbent will also collaborate with finance and quality departments to assure effective monetary and quality controls. They will have on-call and 24/7 accountability related to the Legacy Center.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree required in healthcare or sciences related field; a minimum of five years of managerial experience required. Master’s degree preferred.

2. Five years OPO and/or transplant experience required.

3. Operating room, sterile processing, biomed, and supply chain management experience required.

4. Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), Normothermic Regional Perfusion, and organ pump technology experience preferred.

5. Ability to work on-call and maintain 24/7 accountability for the donor recovery center and provide on call oversight is required.

6. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.

7. Demonstrates strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and time management skills.

8. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

9. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.

10. Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.
