Community Engagement Specialist

OVERVIEW

The Community Engagement Specialist is responsible for all community engagement program support as well as leading the STA volunteer program. The candidate will be responsible for fostering a community among donor and recipient families, curating content for STA platforms and providing ongoing support of the marketing communications led events and activities. The candidate will also support all STA community engagement programs including organ, eye and tissue donor registration drives.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field specific to marketing, communications, community engagement and event planning.

2. 1-3 years of related experience.

3. Must have the ability to compose and edit copy for distribution across multiple communications vehicles. Proficient in MS office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Graphic design skills required.

4. Must demonstrate highly effective analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, and time management.

5. Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

6. Ability to work both in a team setting and independently. Collaborate across a team locally and across the DSA and work with internal and external partners.

7. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a fast-paced and heavy workload.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Supports community engagement programs.

2. Supports community education for various audiences.

3. Supports marketing communications campaigns by maintaining a story database of families we serve throughout the community.

4. Supports campaign content.

5. Leads volunteer initiatives to support STA’s lifesaving mission.

6. Supports and often leads events driven by the marketing communications team.

7. Supports content development for marketing communications campaigns including the stories of grateful transplant recipients and hopeful donor families.

8. Supports educational programs and registration drives.

9. Supports outreach programs throughout our DSA and in our target demographic to increase public understanding of organ, eye, and tissue recover, donation and transplantation

10. Supports positive relationships in the community and throughout our DSA to support STA’s mission.

11. Represent STA at industry and community events.

12. Other duties as assigned.
