Business Development Specialist

OVERVIEW

Business Development Specialist is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and improving STA’s business partner relationships by conducting research, interpreting data and making recommendations based on findings. The Project Specialist will track and record metrics, data and statistics on STA and partner performance, authorization rates and partner relations on a regular basis. The Project Specialist is also responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and terminating STA staff electronic medical record access.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor’s degree in health-related field, business, or information technology.

2. Ability to utilize interpersonal communication skills to establish positive relationships with internal and external partners

3. Experience with health care applications

4. Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills and an ability to work independently

5. Prior OPO experience preferred

6. EPIC experience strongly preferred

7. Strong organizational skills required

8. Strong customer service skills required

9. Quality assurance/quality control experience preferred

10. Proficiency in the use of computer equipment and software, including but not limited to, Windows environment (Word, Excel – Intermediate to Advanced skills) required. Strong word processing, database and presentation software skills. Ability to perform data entry and audit.

11. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team required

12. Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

13. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.

14. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.

15. Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Exhibits STA’ mission to maximize the gift of organ and tissue donation by providing excellent service to internal and external customers.

6. Designs methods and procedures for collecting, monitoring, evaluating, and presenting data trends for all departments within Business Development in collaboration with IT and C.I.

7. Collaborates with user groups to provide training, assess user needs, and recommend changes while serving as an internal consultant.

8. Responsible for onboarding new staff to data reporting, EMR program and ongoing educational opportunities for STA staff

9. Organizes and tracks the details of STA’ electronic medical record access system

10. Partner and develop relationships with hospital IT and EMR teams to maximize utilization of the EMR systems to improve the donation process. Partner, as needed, with external clinical resources.

11. Practices and communicates IT security policies to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of protected data

12. Maintains the highest level of confidentiality of STA employee personal information and EMR information

13. Oversee EMR access for STA staff by completing the following:

14. Request the appropriate level of EMR access for STA staff

15. Maintain and troubleshoot EMR access issues with appropriate internal and external partners

16. Terminate EMR access within a timely manner to meet contractual obligations

17. Provides advanced support to the end-user in the installation, configurations, and training of mobile applications necessary to maintain access

18. Provides consistent and standardized communication and training to STA staff regarding individual hospital EMR system changes and updates

19. Conducts EMR need assessments, develops tools and materials to assist STA staff in obtaining and managing hospital badge and EMR access.

20. Assist in the development of policies and contracts regarding EMR access

21. Conducts STA required and hospital EMR audits in collaboration with Quality Services.

22. Works with internal and external IT colleagues to ensure timely delivery of a high-quality solution to EMR issues

23. May need to assist internal and external partners after normal work hours, including weekend

24. Assist with educational and training documentation in appropriate software
