Manager, Family Services
GENERAL STATEMENT (Summary of Duties and Responsibilities):
The Manager of Family Care is responsible for providing effective leadership, planning, and performance of the department’s staff and their activities in support of organizational goals. Develops, implements, and evaluates all programs and services related effective approach methodologies and family support. Collaborates with operational leadership and staff to promote cross-departmental collaboration in support of optimal department and organizational outcomes. The manager is responsible for fostering an environment that promotes and sustains the highest level of team and individual engagement and works to promote strengths-based leadership and tools to achieve objectives.
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or communication is Applicable experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
A minimum of two years of supervisory or management experience
Experience in high pressure situations required. Trauma, end of life care, first responder, negotiator, social work, or law enforcement experience preferred.
Organ and tissue experience preferred.
Demonstrated experience in creating and delivering quality training and educational materials and programs. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.
Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy
Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s License required.
Proficient in MS office, Word, Excel, Power
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Collaborates with senior management to evaluate the organization's goals and strategic opportunities and threats.
Collaborates with the front-line department leadership on:
Effectively utilizing all resources and staffing skill sets to maximize
Developing and implementing best practices to gain greater consistency and efficiencies within the donation processes.
Ensure implementation and adherence to STA, OPTN, and CMS policies and guidelines as well as any other relevant regulatory requirements.
Collaborates cross-departmentally to promote and achieve authorization rate goals.
Development and maintenance of applicable policy and procedures.
Coach, mentor, support, and motivate the department leadership and team members in overseeing the day-to-day operations of Family Services in a manner that is consistent with STA’s Core Purpose, Business Definition and Core Values.
Establishes department budget and financial
Assess Southwest Transplant Alliance clinical operations for improvement opportunities as they relate to the roles of all Family Services staff and implement strategies which address identified needs.
Collaborates with Human Resources department in the recruiting, hiring and onboarding
Collaborates with the Quality department to ensure ongoing process improvement and regulatory compliance as well as collaboration on such initiatives as Quality Improvement, Lean Process, and PDSA development and execution.
Initiates and maintains external relationships with STA
Collaborates with cross functional leaders to establish best
Provide 24/7 support for all Family Services operations-related activities as
