Manager, Donor Services – Placement and Allocation

OVERVIEW

The Manager of Donor Services – Authorization is responsible for managing the day to day operations of the Donor Services Center. The Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of a cross-departmental training program designed to align the tissue approach practices across the organization. Collaborates with other Donor Services Center leadership to improve authorization rates for tissue donation as well as increase placement rates for research organs and tissue. Collaboration with recovery team leaders, tissue processors, and organ research agencies to maintain efficient processes with high commitment to customer service is essential.

JOB REQUIREMENTS


1. Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare, or applicable field is required or equivalent experience.

2. Current Texas credential as an EMT-B or LVN, or completion of an accredited clinical healthcare program

resulting in a certification, registry, licensure or equivalent work experience.

3. Two years tissue or organ call center supervisory experience required.

4. Certified Tissue Banking Specialist (CTBS) and Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC)

certification preferred.

5. Must be able to simultaneously perform multiple complex processes and prioritize tasks to optimize workflow to ensure compliance with established policies and timelines.

6. Excellent communication skills required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and to represent the organization publicly.

7. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team required.

8. Ability to cope with high levels of stress and able to handle a heavy workload.

9. Ability to travel in light and commercial aircraft or drive his/her personal auto in order to meet all job duties and responsibilities. Current Driver’s license required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Responsible for day-to-day management of their direct reports from the Donor Services Center staff.

2. Responsible for the management of tissue donation approaches and donor screening for recovery. Ensures all legal and industry standards are met for tissue approach and recovery.

3. Ensures efficient and effective processes exist that streamline communication within the department and with external agencies.

4. Participates in Southwest Transplant Alliance Administrator on Call responsibilities and accountable for 24/7 operations of the Donor Services Center.

5. Assists STA leadership in developing standard tracking/trending reports on metric and key department

performance indicators regarding authorization (authorization rates, utilization of tissues approaches and

authorized, donor family approach metrics, etc.), implements, and provides to senior leadership routinely and reviews with approach staff monthly.

6. Responsible for the development, management and implementation of a cross-departmental approach training plan for Donor Services Center staff that can also be used for other types of approaches for donation in the organization.

7. Conducts annual performance assessments, and competency assessments.

8. Assists in the development of operational standards, policies, and procedures of the department and

departments.

9. Performs other duties as assigned.
