Jacob Eyring - Donor Hero

When South Carolina couple Pam and Kurt Eyring lost their son, Jacob, suddenly in 2015, their world crumbled. But Jacob was signed up to be an organ, eye and tissue donor, and has helped more than 300 people across the United States through his gift of tissue donation.

The Eyrings learned that Jacob’s legacy is larger than anything they ever could have imagined, and it inspired them to correspond with recipients of Jacob's tissue. This led to an emotional meeting between Pam Eyring and Danny Bownds out of Mabank, TX.

As a Vietnam Vet exposed to Agent Orange, Danny had one last surgery to try and save his foot, and it worked because of Jacob's tissue! Jacob’s gift was the what Danny needed to begin restoring mobility and regain a sense of independence. On a recent trip to Texas, Pam had the opportunity to meet Danny and we were lucky to share in that moment with them.
