Fibbens Addo Koranteng

General Counsel

An experienced lawyer with a blend of in-house and law firm experience advising and representing companies and executive teams on a wide variety of matters, Fibbens Addo Koranteng serves as General Counsel for STA. In his role, Fibbens oversees all legal functions of STA, including, without limitation, healthcare regulatory compliance, patient care, contracts management, general corporate, commercial and litigation matters. His extensive knowledge and experience are an asset to the organization’s lifesaving mission.

Fibbens started his legal career as a judicial clerk for an appellate court judge at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District, following his service as a judicial intern for a federal district court judge at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Missouri. Following clerkship, Fibbens joined a premier, regional St. Louis, Missouri civil defense firm as an associate, where he litigated a variety of cases, typically involving the defense of corporate clients in many areas, including product liability, insurance coverage and commercial litigation. Fibbens successfully represented defendants in multi-million dollar appeals before the Missouri Court of Appeals and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit. Fibbens left that firm to open his own law practice, where he focused on general business representation and health law.

For the ten years immediately preceding his joining STA in 2023, Fibbens’ practice focused mainly on business and healthcare law, representing numerous clients both as an in-house and outside general counsel.  Fibbens served as General Counsel for two groups of affiliated privately held companies. In that role, he oversaw and managed all legal functions of the groups, which consisted of diagnostic laboratories, pharmacies, a wholesale prescription drug distributorship and a medical spa and salon. 

Fibbens was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, and immigrated to the United States in 1997. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Missouri – Columbia School of Law, Columbia, Missouri and a Bachelor of Science degree from William Woods University, Fulton, Missouri. He is licensed to practice law in Missouri, Illinois and Texas.

Fibbens is an alumnus of the Missouri Bar Leadership Academy, Class of 2010.  He formerly served as an officer and committee member in several St. Louis, Missouri bar associations and as a mentor in the Big Brother Big Sisters program.  He has also mentored and continues to mentor many law students and newly admitted attorneys.

Fibbens is an avid European football enthusiast and a die-hard supporter of Chelsea F.C. (The Pride of London). In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with his family and close friends, road cycling and playing football, among other interests.
