Kirsten Gappelberg is Vice President of Marketing Communications and Foundation Relations at Southwest Transplant Alliance. Under her strategic direction and leadership are the organization’s community engagement activities, marketing and communications functions and the newly-formed Outlive Yourself Foundation.

Gappelberg is a veteran communications professional and corporate social responsibility strategist with nearly 20 years of experience. Prior to her role at Southwest Transplant Alliance, she led corporate social responsibility and sustainability efforts at global cosmetics giant Mary Kay Inc. while also leading The Mary Kay Foundation. Gappelberg began her career in the high-tech industry while serving in various roles at JDA Software and public relations agency Springbok Cohn and Wolfe.

Gappelberg is a native Floridian and moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University, where she graduated with a degree in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs. She furthered her career at Boston College, earning a Global Reporting Index sustainability reporting certification and a corporate social responsibility professional leadership certification. Gappelberg is a member of the Community Partners of Dallas board of directors as well as an active member of the Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support Alliance. Gappelberg was a member of the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Leadership Dallas class in 2015 and served as class advisor in 2016. She is also a sustainer of the Junior League of Dallas, active in National Charity League and a member of the Dallas Summit.
