As Director of Information Technology, Steve Peterson directs STA’s IT department. He and his team plan, deploy and manage IT services throughout the organization. They ensure the technology meets the needs of the staff who perform life-saving services.
Before joining STA in November 2015, Steve was the Director of Information Technology at Weaver and Tidwell, the largest independent accounting firm in the Southwest. During his tenure, he directed all IT operations within the organization. He supervised, mentored and developed a group of 14 managers and staff who supported 600 users. Steve managed an estimated IT budget of five million per year.
Steve is a former LAN Manager at Booth, a Dallas-based manufacturing company. He has also been a math teacher and served as the Network Administrator at the Jordan School District in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Arts in computer science and mathematics from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Additionally, he is certified as a Project Manager Professional (PMP) and is ITIL v3 certified.
Steve is an active member of the DFW community, which includes membership in the Big-D Club of Toastmasters International. He is also the former chair of the Baker Tilly North America IT committee.
