As the Vice President of Quality Services, Maureen Meyer provides guidance to STA in its development and implementation of quality based and data derived performance improvement initiatives. Additionally, she is responsible for ensuring all organizational activities at STA are compliant with the standards and regulations set forth by the regulatory and professional agencies that govern the organization. These include the American Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO), the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB) and the Organ Procurement and Transplantation Networks (OPTN).
Prior to joining STA in July of 2017, Maureen was the Director of Quality Services at the Nevada Donor Network, the organ procurement organization (OPO) based in Las Vegas, NV. While there, she supervised a staff of seven and ensured that the organization’s quality program achieved excellence and reflected continual quality improvement.
Maureen previously served as the Director of Quality Systems at LifePoint (now named We Are Sharing Hope), the OPO in Charleston, SC.
She has a PhD in pathology from Saint Louis University in St. Louis Missouri. Maureen graduated Summa Cum Laude from Maryville University, also in St. Louis, MO, with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a Bachelor of Science in clinical laboratory science.
She is a member of the American Society of Quality, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Alpha Epsilon Lambda, a graduate student honor society and Sigma Xi, a scientific honor society. She is also a former member of the United States Navy Reserves.
