As Vice President, Client Services, Sam Davis directs the organization’s hospital and family services department and will oversee STA’s marketing and communications department.  In addition, he will supervise the organization’s liaison initiative for the 11 transplant centers served by STA. Sam was previously STA’s Director of Hospital and Family Services where he and his team work with more than 200 hospitals in Texas to ensure that every lifesaving donation opportunity is realized. He and his staff provide compassionate support to the families of potential organ donors and offer bereavement services following the loss of a family member.

Before joining STA in 2014, Sam was the Director of Professional Services and Public Affairs at Indiana Donor Network, where he served for more than 16 years. He was responsible for creating hospital and physician relationships to ensure that policies supporting organ, eye and tissue donation for transplantation were current and in compliance with federal and accrediting body regulations. Sam was also responsible for leading a community relations team who educated the public about the importance of donation through special events, volunteer programs and media relations.

Sam is a member of the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations (AOPO) where he has served as chair of the hospital development council. He also served two years on the pediatric transplant committee at the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS).

His background in healthcare also includes Marketing Director positions for hospital cardiac services and a multi-hospital owned managed care network.

Sam has a Bachelor of Science degree in electronic media and political science from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana.
